Very interesting Kevin. So I see I'm not the first this has happened to. Did you move on to a new brand? It is frustrating when companies refuse to provide such important information ... or ignore you, in your case.

I'm also a big fan of fish oil supplements and the recent nuclear scare in Japan is something health conscious consumers need to be aware of.

I've used Carlson Fish Oil for a number of years; while I do enjoy the quality of their product I have been having reservations for continuing their use.....I contacted the company through their website requesting information on their testing protocols and the availability of test results on their products.

They never responded and further attempts to get any information on how they purify and test for contaminants have not been answered. This is poor customer service and I had at least expected their Customer Service Department to at least acknowledge my request for this important information.

Thanks for the input, Mandy. Those are difficult situations. I'd say your answers are probably the best way to deal with that... in some cases, it seems like some people just want to get a rise out of others ...

This is a great article. I have been through this scenario SO many times, and I often find that it is a struggle to get others to stop asking questions when I obviously don't want to start an argument. Many times I resort to the simplest explanations of "dairy makes me sick," and "I just don't like the texture of meat." These are both true statements (I'm just omitting the many other factors), and it really can save some stress at the dinner table!
