Long Time Survivor of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) Halts Progress of Disease
(Scroll down to view some helpful health tips we all can learn from this man)
Several years back, I met a man named Craig who changed my life. The first time I set foot into his modest 1-bedroom apartment, I was quite taken aback by all the herbs, natural remedies, green smoothies, and more. I’d never seen anything like it before. At the time, I was just starting to explore the untapped possibilities of natural health. However, I was unfamiliar with many of the things this man was doing to treat his diagnosis of Lou Gehrig’s (also known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or ALS) disease. The more time I spent around Craig, the more I realized that he had quite a positive aura about him. I would feel it as soon as I entered the room. Several others I have talked to have said similar things. I knew right away that something was unique about him.
Unique indeed, as he has survived over 17 years from the deadly neuro-degenerative disease known as ALS. To give you perspective, most people with this diagnosis survive a maximum of 2-3 years. Craig is considered a medical anomaly. I was quite curious to learn more about him and what he was doing. We exchanged dialog throughout several visits to his home, and road-trips to his Amish healer over 2 hours away.
Craig helped me to realize the endless potential of integrative health practices, a science and art that he has refined over several decades. He combines a raw food diet, herbology, yoga, strength training, spiritual practices such as meditation, and more to optimize his health and prevent progression of his diagnosis of ALS. While this may seem like an extreme lifestyle for some, it just goes to show how differently people can approach difficult situations in their lives. If given a “death sentence” diagnosis such as his, we have two main options: We can take it as is, or we can try to learn more, and fight it with all our will. Craig is a fighter, and he continues to do so day-in, day-out.
If you need inspiration, look no further than Craig. He has halted progression of a terminal illness, and even reversed some of its effects, such as muscle loss. I’ve personally witnessed Craig stand unassisted from his wheelchair. This is no small feat. It should be “impossible” according to the medical definition of his disease. In addition to his physical victories, Craig has taken it upon himself to organize a comprehensive integrative healing campaign, known as “The Healers.”
As per his website: “The Healers” is a premiere grouping of holistic health experts dedicated to changing the way the world views healing and holistic therapies. Dozens of internationally renowned scientists, physicians, holistic health experts and integrative medical professionals have joined together in this never before seen association dedicated to breaking through establishment medical assumptions to bring the world a better and more complete understanding of how holistic healing can benefit everyone.
I feel very fortunate to know Craig, and participate with “The Healers” campaign as an advisor. This cause receives my highest recommendation. By visiting this website, you may gain valuable insight into a variety of potentially life-saving therapies and practitioners. The question is, when you are faced with health challenges, will you fight?
